Honda Civic Coupe 1996-
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Pretty good, holds value well and is well built.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Doesn't use much petrol. Insurance not bad either.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

A nice drive, but not much grip on standard tyres (especially in the wet). Easy to wheel spin if your'e not careful.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not the fastest - more warm than hot. Still faster than a lot of other cars on the road, though.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Solid car. Nothing gone wrong so far.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Looks good with spoiler and large alloys, but may be viewed as a woman's car by some due to the light steering and pedals.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Quite good, but could do with bucket seats - you'll have to hang on if your'e going round a corner quickly.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Factory-fitted imobiliser. Could do with an alarm.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Extortionately expensive; £150 for a service and they didn't even change the air filter or plugs! During the service, they charged over £40 for 3.5 litres of oil and it was nothing special. Screenwash was a ridiculous price as well.

  • Problems and Ownership

None, very good engine, loves to be reved.

    Other

A few rattles from the rear shelf and glove compartment - annoying.
