Summary
What does this car say about you?
This is the one thing I don't like about the car: It looks a bit staid. Honda have tried their best by fitting side skirts, spoiler and alloys but it just looks like a very practical car. I'm not a big fan of the new-look Civic; I love the front but I think the rear is very fussy and the split rear screen compromises rear visibility.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it; there's lots of room in it. They regard Honda as a reliable brand.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, I'd buy it again. Every now and again I'm tempted to buy something a bit "sexier" like an Alfa but then I read owners reviews and I realise how nice it is to turn the key and know it's going to start.

I'm going to keep this Honda for a bit

Yes, I felt I got a very good trade in price for my Mini
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I had a BMW Mini that was proving to be very unreliable; I wanted a reliable car and I'd heard good things about Honda Civics so I plumped for one.
What was the dealer like?
Professional, friendly, not at all pushy.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The one thing that annoys me is the turbo lag: In first gear, when pulling away there's a lag. Once you're into second gear the acceleration's very good and it's fantastic on the motorway; acceleration from 50mph is great.
What's it like to park?
It's easy to park, there are no blind spots. The boots quite big and the rear view mirror always makes you think you're closer to objects than you are.

Have you had any problems with the car?
The turbo charger broke: This is a known problem and it was replaced free of charge by a Honda dealer. Otherwise it has been extremely reliable.
What's most practical about your car?
It's extremely roomy; you can easily get 5 adults in the car and a dog in the boot.
