For 16k you get a lot of motor. There's nothing else on the market to match it.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Considering it's a high performance motor, the mpg is not too shabby so long as you don't constantly hit the red line. It was cheaper for me to insure this than an MG ZR160, mind you I am 30

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

The best hot hatch I've driven. The gear box is sweet and handling is sharp and responsive. However in icy or extreme wet conditions you will lose a lot of traction particularly from standing starts. (but this is nit picking)

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Great considering it doesn't have a turbo. I would like a bit more mid-range but one you hit 6k on the revs its a flying machine.

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

A suspension strut niggle the only problem in 18 months. Honda have 100% reliability record with their vtecs... say no more

The Civic has been criticised for it's boxy mpv looks. However in Type R guise it has a special presence. It looks larger than life and turns quite a few heads.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Very spacious, the dials are clear and easy to use, and the gear stick is in the perfect position. The ride is stiff, so you will feel the bumps.

  • Security and Service

    Security

No complaints here. has a Cat 1 immobilizer and deadlocks are a good addition.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

I was really impressed with their service. I've had cars from 3 other car manufacturers, and Honda has them all beat. They were courteous and the servicing quick and efficient.
