Honda Insight (2009 - 2014) 1.3 IMA SE Hybrid 5d CVT Owner Review

1.3 IMA SE Hybrid 5d CVT
Honda Civic Insight Hatchback

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

This car changes the way you drive and actively encourages good driving. By which I mean economical driving. However, plenty of Insight reviews complain about lack of performance, the cheap-looking interior plastics, the firm ride, and on and on. But this car reliably gets you where you want to go in good time and in a very relaxed manner. Better for the environment AND your blood pressure. Plastics are used because they are light. The ride is fairly firm because the tyres are thinner than average - both are features calculated to increase mpg. Nevertheless it's a Honda and feels like a high-quality car. If you want to go fast, buy a sports car or a stupid big SUV. But if you're sick of constantly spending your hard-earned cash on fuel and you want a reliable, comfortable, well-equipped family ride that steers and handles very precisely while wafting you along at the legal limit in great comfort and an enlightened, Zen-like state, then this car is for you. Fun, affordable and stress-free motoring.

How reliable do you find the car?

Honda's build quality and reliability are legendary. No Honda I've owned has ever broken down or failed to start first time in any weather. I hope this car is no exception.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

This car is all about MPG. If you're used to being whacked down the road by a 3-litre turbo, you're going to be disappointed.
