    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Mine has just about very conceivable extra and still lists at less than £29k. Actually only paid £26k. You'd struggle to find a German car similarly specced for that.

    Costs

Running as a company car so emissions etc are very important. Euro IV compliant engine would be better though. Very economical for size.

    Driving

Corners and handles well for such a heavy car. Traction control is one of best I've tried.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Awesome! I had a Golf GTI 150bhp diesel for 18 months. Off the mark the Golf was quicker but mid-range the Jag would slaughter it. The torque is massive. 50-70mph there aren't many pertol cars that would keep up.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

A few small problems but nothing Jaguar didn't deal with quickly and professionally.

I personally think Jag has cracked the old man image with this car. I'm 36 and my mates will rib me for driving an ""old man's car"" but I think it's just a bit of the green eyed monster. Do seem to have a few older men in their XJ's turn their noses up.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Even with lumbar support I do find the seats a bit hard on longer journeys. To be fair though, this may just be the way I set the seats up. The 3-memory settings are ideal as I can easily reset the seat exactly to my needs after someone else has driven.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not been broken into yet. Alarm never really gone off at inappropriate time so must all be ok.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very, very polite and professional. Much less stuffy than BMW, Audi and Merc counterparts. Sales staff not at all condescending or snooty.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Needs a new EGR valve which is on order but not causing too much problem

    Other

Boot release springs both broke and key fobs need reprogramming. Aparently these are bith problems Jag is aware of and they are replacing FOC with superior components.

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    New

Would you buy the same model again?

    Yes

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?

    Yes
