In their own words

I've owned my x260 Jaguar for over a month having come out of a tuned BMW 420D. The first thing I noticed after the long trip from Bristol back to Essex was "I don't know what on earth Jaguar and a lot of motoring journalists were talking about". In a banner ad Jaguar refered to the car as "agile and cat like" and journalists who road tested the 180bhp engine said the car was "responsive"...its nothing of the sort! In my opinion [untuned] the vehicle felt as sluggish as a bus even when in sport mode. The worst thing about it is the ZF gearbox firmware...the gearbox NEVER seems to know what its meant to be doing, and this isn't just this vehicle as I had road tested one with only 28k miles on the clock. I do recall that JayEmm (YouTube) also said the same thing when reviewing the 300bhp V6 version. In summary without a tuning box/remap and pedalbox to improve the throttle response...this car is in no way the best in its class, my BMW even when not tuned was far better in every way. I also wish to confirm as has been pointed out by a few motoring journalists that the interior build quality is sub-par, its a disgrace that jaguar used some of the fake leather that they used in the interior...the door cards are really flimsy. The only good things I can say about the vehicle are that: 1. Its an awfully GOOD looking car in R-Sport spec, just GORGEOUS! 2. Handles very well for a car its size.
