  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Makes me feel good to drive it, and because it is so economical I find I am now touring places far more than I used to do, and as an estate it carries loads without infringing into the interior of the car, it is also a very quiet car to drive.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They believe it looks and drives great, but keep taking the mickey out of me as to how often it has been in the garage due to the eco stop / start failing to operate and the amount of excuses the local service manager has come out with.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, but not from my local Jaguar dealer (Guy Salmon, Ascot) after all the lies that the service manager has told to me.

What are you likely to buy next?

I would have liked to buy another sportbrake but unless I can get this problem sorted out, I don't know if I will, for apart from this faut the car is without doubt the best car I have ever owned.

  • Buying experience

    4 out of 5 4.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £34,500

When did you buy the car?

    January 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

On the road cost new with all the fitted extras would have been over £44,000, I bought it six months old with only 3,000 miles on the clock and I only paid £34,500, good saving for an almost new car.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Very good fuel economy, low running costs and yet still a very good looking powerful, luxury, spacious estate car.

    What was the dealer like?

Very helpful and explained everything well inside and outside of the car and then we went on an extensive road test over all types of main and country roads to allow me to feel the different types of driving conditions and how well the car handled under all these different road conditions.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Fantastic, drives very smoothly and is very powerful when needed but also very economical, makes you feel good to be behind the wheel.

    What's it like to park?

Very easy due to the in built parking sensors and full colour camera.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

YES, the stop / start is continually failing to work and my local Jaguar dealer has been up until now been unable to fix this fault despite having my car for periods of up to 10 days and for this first time last week, they actually tested the battery and found there was a drain on it, never again will I trust my local dealer (Guy Salmon, Ascot) to ever have my car again, the service manager lied to me on far too many occasions, even said it was my fault as how could I expect a Jaguar to work properly if I was not going to drive it every day, unbelievable for a man of his position to even say this, and has caused his dealership to become a laughing stock locally .

What's most practical about your car?

Keyless entry and ignition, automatic lights, window wipers and boot opening, all make the driving so pleasurable.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Reversing camera makes parking so easy when getting into very tight spots, eco stop / start is great for economy when it works.
