40k new, I got mine 10 years later for 4k with 94k on the clock. This or a Corsa, I know I made the right choice.
Costs
Not as bad as you think, I've seen anywhere between 0 and 50 mpg. I'm averaging 20.7 mpg combined. I got fully comp insurance for £980 and that's at 22 years old with 1 years no claims. I've still got have it serviced though.

Handles well, just don't push too hard in the rain.
Performance
Mine is the 4.0 XJR so it's fast in normal mode but sport mode is a wonderful thing, I'm not sure of the 0-60 time but it feels quick enough.
