Jaguar 1994 XJ Saloon

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

  • Economy

    Costs

    1 out of 5 1.0

Hmmm... £175 to fix a lightbulb. Driving in sports mode means filling £50 worth of petrol nearly every two days!

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

The interior is very small allowing you to be seemingly in charge of this beast... One time I pushed it too far and not even the brilliant driving features could prevent me from ending up in a ditch!

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

The engine purrs when pushed like a real Jaguar (e.g. the animal)... I love being able to blow past pathetic drivers with a mere push of the accelerator.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

At first, it was in the garage monthly! There was always a problem to be sorted! But it never left me stranded on the side of the road in a storm - that's all the reliabilty I need!

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

I don"t understand! They only gave 3 stars for image! It never fails to turn heads as I pull up to my son's school! If you drive a Jag, you"ve made it - it's a status symbol second to none!

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

The sports seats suck, especially for long hours at the wheel, and there's not enough room in the back! Get an XJ8 LWB with normal seats, and I"d give that a 5 - incredible roomy and comfy... but the sports car... nah!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Apart from the occasional fingerprints from people peering in to have a look at this beautiful vehicle... no punk has ever tried to do anything to this car... nice security systems I"m guessing!

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

As you can see from the poor reliability rating, there was always a problem. Undoubtedly, the checkups on this kitty weren"t up to par, and so there were continual problems from the beginning.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    3.2 is nice... 4.0 purrs!

    Other

Always had major problems with tyres... I guess I burned too much rubber doing 150 mph on the M1.
