• Summary

What does this car say about you?

I'm not really that bothered. It's more what it doesn't say that I'm bothered about and it doesn't say BMW on it.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My son (12) thinks it's cool but he prefers to be driven round in my wife's 4x4. My parents like the comfort and I've never asked my neighbours.

Would you buy this car again and why?

My only hesitation would be the cost of Jaguar servicing.

What are you likely to buy next?

My heart says an XF. My head says something more practical and then downsize my wife's car which tends to be used for holidays etc.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    April 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

I thought so at the time. I got the best trade in value on my Audi by £3K and the dealer was selling the car about £4K cheaper than anyone else

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Poor experience with BMW and Audi

    What was the dealer like?

On the purchase, couldn't have been better. Very helpful, willing to do a deal

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

The best car I have ever driven - once you get used to the size. As mentioned, on the motorway it has an uncanny ability to demolish long journeys without noticing.

    What's it like to park?

Easy. Parking sensors front and rear, an auto box and well weighted power steering make it a doodle. The main problem is that spaces are often not long enough!

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

An oil seal got missed off the first service so it developed an oil leak from the turbocharger. Otherwise it hasn't missed a beat.

What's most practical about your car?

It eats miles. You get into the car and wonder where the journey has gone.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The seat memories. There is a significant hight difference between my wife and I.
