In their own words

I had my introduction to the X150 generation with my first review of a base model XK on YouTube. After already liking the car for many years prior, it definitely lived up to my expectations. I later drove the supercharged 'R' model from the same 4.2 litre X150 era, and went on to drive multiple other XK's, including the 5.0 and 5.0 R. Overall the 4.2R retained it's place as my XK of choice, and I decided to take the plunge and buy one myself, after going back and forth between that and another Jaguar - the XFR. Also an outstanding vehicle. Ultimately it was the added presence and sheer beauty of the XKR which won over my wallet, and I'm certainly very happy that I decided on picking one up. After previous ownership of a Maserati Quattroporte, the Jaguar delivers everything I loved about that car, but without many of the drawbacks. Although not infinitely bulletproof (no car is), the Jaguar benefits immensely from far more affordable servicing, parts and maintenance costs, coupled with a pretty bulletproof motor which is known for being capable of over 200,000 miles when properly cared for. Space is fantastic for a GT, with enough leg and headroom for a 6'7 driver in my opinion. The X150 generation also benefits immensely over it's X100 shape predecessor in the way of luggage, with it's hatchback style loading space instead of a traditional separate trunk as most sports cars have. Performance is of course fantastic, with its torque being a key selling point for me, given the almost effortless delivery of performance which it's engine offers, making the car feel like it's never really breaking a sweat despite everything you throw at it. Overall, the X150 shape XK's are fantastic motors, and as a motoring fan and independent automotive journalist myself, there is no greater recommendation than purchasing a vehicle yourself.
