• Summary

What does this car say about you?

It's a great rugged, country run around. Can be taken seriously as a 'proper' 4x4 as it is a genuine go-anywhere, over anything vehicle.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

On the whole they love it. Particularly when we are cut off with the snow.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No- I intend to hold on to this one. These Jeeps do tend to have their problems and as I know what the problems are on this Jeep I'm best off fixing what is wrong and running it until it dies as that cash will never get realised if sold on.

What are you likely to buy next?

Hopefully the upcoming 2011 Jeep GC second hand once they have been on the road a couple of years. Or if I need to change sooner then a Nissan Pathfinder.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £2,500

When did you buy the car?

    February 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted a mid-sized 4x4 for carrying horsey bits and bobs, hay, animal feed, bicycles, family etc but didn't want to compromise by getting a 'soft roader'.

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

I love driving it. Very relaxed and encourages calm and enjoyable journeys. Not an exactly the best when it comes to corners, but what do you expect?! Very capable 4.0 engine. 20mpg. I Plan to convert to LPG.

    What's it like to park?

Don't drive it in town often; city never. No problem parking at the farmyard or on the High Street so I'm happy!

Have you had any problems with the car?

Had a few issues since I bought it. The week I picked it up the key wouldn't turn. New barrel required, £45 fitted for cash in the car park *wink wink* at the Jeep parts dept. Transfer case needed replacement (picked up a second hand one though so wasn't too expensive), viscous coupling. There are a few other bits that I still need to get sorted out- a rear window doesn't work (fairly simple fix so I'm lead to beleive); heated seats don't work but this is pretty common I understand. The important thing is the engine is bulletproof and low mileage.

What's most practical about your car?

Huge load space with the rear seats down. It will literally drive over anything I need it to with A/T tyres.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

A/T tyres. Dual zone climate is brilliant.
