Cheaper than any other GTi when new.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

No vices, well balanced and well engineered car. Best handling GTi I've ever driven. And I've driven EVERYTHING!

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Great mid range from classic Lampredi twin cam. 2 litre would have been even better.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Without a doubt this is the toughest car I have ever driven. Twice round the clock and thrashed mercilesly every day!

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Rare and unusual, the few in the know appreciate it, muppets think it's a Golf!

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

It has 5 doors so you don"t have to be a limbo dancer to get in the back and the suspension is compliant, not like all those other GTi"s with roller skate suspension.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

So rare that nobody knows how to get into it.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Few and far between and bloody hopeless when you find one. Good job I'm a mechanic!
