Lancia 1983 Delta
  • Economy

    Value

    2 out of 5 2.0

For it's age and condition, I got it cheap, subsequently, it went cheaply, just to get rid of it!

    Costs

    1 out of 5 1.0

Fuel consumption for it's day was reasonable, but factor in the cost of repairs and breakdowns, it was horrific.

When it was running, what a sweet motor.

    Performance

Italian, twin cam, need i say more?

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    1 out of 5 1.0

I had it 14 months, it spent 5 off road awaiting spares. It broke down on average every 6 weeks. I managed less than 9,000 miles in it.

I liked them, to family and friends, it was the butt of their jokes.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

I stuck HF front seats in mine, they were the business, what i remember of the original front pair wasn't so. My rear passengers were definitely not impressed.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Nothing there, but Lancia's name was mud by then, and unless it was a integral, toe rags didn't want to know.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

The dealers didn't want to know.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

A tribute to Italian engineering, once the blown head gasket was fixed which blew after 3 days of ownership!

    Other

Electrics. What a nightmare, sensors failed often and the central locking would go berserk randomly. I was on 1st name terms with the non franchised dealer who tried desperately to keep it running.
