In their own words

Bought a 4 year old discovery 4 and so far I must have spent another fortune keeping the damn thing going. For a vehicle that's supposed to be the ultimate off roader I would probably agree, problems start when your not off road. The build quality is o.k. The mechanical side is poor with many low quality parts having to be replaced on a regular basis. Like wishbone bushes front and rear, turbos because of a poorly designed drainage system, air suspension falling too pieces, load sensing valves, full gauge from tank with forget wiring loom which tells car it's empty, shuts it into limp mode and closes engine off too protect the catalytic converter. Now much good when your on motorway in 3rd lane and it happens. Nearly £400 to have sat nav maps upgraded by stealership,I'm sure my sat nav still thinks M1 still being built. Tyres are a yearly changeover. 10k if your lucky per set off perrellis. Sway bar bushes and links give in easily. Cambelt and fuel pump belt replacement is ridiculous. Who builts an engine puts it in a body then realised, oh the body has too come off too replace the fuel pump belt at the rear of the engine.NOT CHEAP. £555.00 a year road tax,not worth it when I dare not drive it incase it costs me another arm or leg. Discovery 5 ,butt ugly. Why don't I get rid? Still owe finance on the pile off sh_t. Expensive too run. Leather upholstery ok .Dealerships are the worst I've ever come across and I once bought a daihatsu, so that takes some beating. Harmon Larson speakers crackle like an old vinyl is playing. Lots of electrics at floor level so be careful of puddles you might blow them. Flimsy fixings all over the car. Door trim at bottoms fall off when you slam door again as it's being off load from recovery truck. Voice control,my god grrrrrr I won't go there. Keyless entry on mine works well and keys are left very near car so if you want too steal it, it's always got loads of diesel in,but I don't want it back.
