Range Rover Velar Review (2023)

In their own words

We bought this car because it looked great and was nice to drive. A common mistake with these cars. Please, DO NOT fall for it. DO NOT buy this model of car. The mechanical build quality and is terrible and electrical gremlins are almost comical. We drove out of the dealership after a '147 point check', to find the air con had complete gone and needed immediate overhaul and repair. Within the first 24 months of ownership we've had repeated electrical problems (the screens go blank, radio goes off, etc., with no explanation - then just come back on again). The car has now only done 47k miles. We've had both front wheel bearings replaced. All four brake discs have been replaced as all failed due to rust, and one shattered completely under light breaking (not only unacceptable, but actually dangerous). Now, our steering has gone heavy as all power assist disappeared and, we need a new steering rack. At 47k miles! Speaking to the specialist garage we use (LR charge £210/hour to even look at this thing - so no chance), brake discs and steering racks are a 'common problem' (we were sitting behind another 69 plate Velar, in front of our 68 plate one, with the exact same problem at same time. Land Rover should be utterly ashamed of the quality of build of these things. DO NOT buy one. It just is not worth the hassle (nor the rapidly declining resale values due to most failing like this one). We will never again buy a Land Rover product. Ever.
