In their own words

I was trading from a Mercedes CLC 200 CDI which wasn't exactly a speed machine neither - more of a comfortable cruiser capable of holding the road well and giving some driving pleasure, with some badge prestige and useful gadgets. The CT200h delivers all of this with more refinement, an extra 10 or so HP, and a far better AV / Nav system. Fuel economy is a little lower than I expected at 49 MPG but that is mostly urban driving and a huge improvement on the 24 MPG I was getting in my CLC 200 CDi auto. How you drive this car makes a huge difference to fuel economy. It does have three different driving modes though. The economy mode is the primary reason why I switched - to save fuel and the environment. Slip it into sport and it shifts. It's not a Porsche but it feels fast and well capable of overtaking. It took a week or so and a little bit of viewing hypermiling videos on YouTube to change my driving style to suit the hybrid system. Since doing so I'm getting 49 MPG driving around the city in cold weather. Hoping for more in the summer. Sure, there are diesels out there which will get more MPG than this. But if you drive only in the urban environment or in a cold climate, diesel may not be a wise choice. Automatic petrols guzzle fuel beyond an acceptable level to me. The CT200h hybrid was therefore the ideal candidate. I'd say it's best suited to the urban environment rather than as a motorway cruiser, where diesel does come in to its own.

How reliable do you find the car?

Only had it a few weeks though!

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

The fuel tank is a little on the inadequate side.
