Not cheap, but an icon and respected, so worth the outlay.

Sublime. Best thing on four wheels. Lower it properly and you'll laugh. Pulls 1g I was told once on the bends! (where do I sign).
Performance
Great to 80, but it's about being fast through the corners. Got a little upset on the A1 in Italy as I couldn't keep up with the big boys.

Rover K-series is solid enough if looked after.

Tricky one. I did a 3.5k mile European drive and survived and commuted, so it's ok.
