Lotus Exige (2000-)
  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

A supercar for £23k or less used with 10k mileage? That'll be the Exige then.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not too daft on petrol, but services etc aren't cheap.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

The car says to you "look son, you may be sat at the wheel but this is my car and if you don't buy into the live fast, die young, leave a beautiful corpse philosophy, then don't even think of turning the key."

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

So fast I still shake everytime I get out of it. Purely bought it because it scares the hell out of me.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

    No problems to date.

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

Batmobile. People walk into lamposts when you drive past. Other drivers veer off the road as they're looking in the mirror (in which 2 seconds ago was a mile of empty road behind them).

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

If you want comfort, buy a Volvo or something. The only comfort in this vehicle is knowing you will embarass any car at the lights. Entriely impractical car really, but what the hell.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

There's only about 600 in existence, so a thief would kinda stick out like a sore thumb. Despite that, it does have a good Cat 1 security system.

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Not used Manufacturer yet, but word round the campfire is they ain't especially helpful. Remains to be seen.

  • Problems and Ownership
