The A class is a solidly built car, much as you would expect from Mercedes. The A200 diesel is spritely without being too powerful, decent fuel economy and so far great reliability. This automatic version is easy and relaxing to drive with all the controls to hand I especially like the cruise/speed controls as it’s easy and simple to use once you get use to them, all other controls especially the rotary control to switch menus and sub menus is really good. Seats are comfy and easy to adjust, and I really like material in the AMG model a nice soft Suede material. Downsides, the suspension on the AMG model Is a touch on the firm/ low side, but gives great road holding at sensible speeds, but can make it difficult to get in/ out of once you get to a certain age.
