Value
Stunning second-hand buy. One of the last "bulletproof" Mercs.
Costs
Quite frugal at 25-30 to the gallon, but main dealer servicing is very costly. Not tremendously mechanically complex, so perfectly suitable for good quality independent servicing.

Driving
Disarmingly swift car, user friendly, comfortable, excellent as grand tourer and for daily use. Capacious load space.
Performance
Seamless delivery from supercharged 4 cyl, 2.3 litre engine. 0-60 about nine seconds, but feels quicker. Excellent five speed auto gearbox. Not a sports car, but excellent all-round performer.

Quality car from premium manufacturer. Less common than BMW 3 Series Coupe, which is probably the nearest rival.
Comfort
Quality interior fittings and ergonomics. Only short of height adjustment on steering wheel.
