In their own words

The 2011 Mini Cooper 2.0 SD Convertible (R57) is the most reliable, economical and fun car I’ve ever owned by a long distance. Having had a full genuine BMW Mini “TLC” (Tender Loving Care) inclusive service history and using genuine BMW Mini parts probably has something to do with this but it puts a smile on my face from cheek to cheek every single time I drive it. It returns an average of 68mpg at 70mph and goes up to 88mpg on the 50mph stretch of the M4 roadworks. It has spent much of its time on cruise control on motorway commute but when it’s off the motorway, slotting the gearstick over to the sports setting and additionally a press of the sports button and the car really does deliver a very rewarding and fun driving experience. If the roof is down the wind deflector makes for much smoother open top motoring but if you have rear passengers it’s not that much more windy. A “Grace Kelly” style scarf is recommended for long hair at higher speeds! It’s amazing how much fun a Mini can bring to your life. Totally reliable too. It’s had a new battery which is not unreasonable considering the last one has lasted 9 years and I have a trickle charger so when it’s sat in the garage it stays 100% charged. Useful at the moment..... It’s looks have held and it doesn’t really look dated even by today’s 2021 standards and in this world of uncertainty it sure is nice to be able to get in, switch on and power down the roof to add a little sunshine to my life on my weekly essential-worker commute. Roll on summer and here’s hoping to a brighter 2021 and beyond with friends and family again.
