Value
Expensive for a titchy car, but having had three BMW's it feels what it is a 'mini' BMW
Costs
Does OK on fuel, but I haven't been anywhere near the 40mpg quoted elsewhere in these reviews. About 35 mpg at best and I don't thrash it.

Driving
Handles very well if a bit choppy at times. Passengers get bounced about a bit, but that's part of the fun.
Performance
Not bad engine a bit coarse at high revs and the gearbox is a bit notchy, although I'm told the new gearbox in the 04 model has cured this problem

Reliability
The only thing I can find is an annoying vibration which appears at 3000rpm from the central speedo. BMW are still trying to sort it
Comfort
Go for optional sports seats. I didn't and the standard seats lack lateral support.

Prestons of Colne have been superb from sales through to service. Very highly recommended
