In their own words

Buying a mini was a nod towards my dads car when I was a kid. A far cry from the old mini this one is a joy to drive, handles well. Reasonably economical even with my lead foot. Fast enough to be fun, boots rubbish but who cares when they are this much fun to drive. Fold down the seats I get all my fishing kit in which is all I need. Biggest down side is the seats can be hard on my old bum. Does go through 1/2 litre of oil every 1000 miles or so. Sadly the gearbox has now got noisy but I’ll drive it until it packs up. So far I’ve had to change rear callipers on one side as they had seized, timing issue ended up having the chain changed at 111000 miles so not bad. Washer motor has needed to be replaced and the air conditioning has stopped but not a problem to me as I don’t generally use it.

How reliable do you find the car?

Rear brake binding & had to change timing chain at 111000 miles Gearbox is noisy now

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

I really rate the mini, been a great car to drive. Fairly economical and very nippy. Corners very well
