    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Excellent second-hand buy. Generous equipment, electric everything.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fuel economy good for a V6. My heavy right foot even returns about 25mpg. Haven't had a service yet, but I don't think it will be cheap.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Good handling for a saloon cruiser. Effortless to drive. Loves motorways, but also handles country roads with ease.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Superb power delivery. Ultra responsive and smooth engine all through the rev range. Bags of torque available.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

    Faultless mechanicals. Service history ideal.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not top range executive badge, but a rather rare alternative motor for the discerning driver. Good looks for a Japanese car - a rare combo of mean on-road presence but understated overall.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

One comfy car. Supportive seats which adjust in every direction.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

No deadlocks, but factory-fitted Cobra alarm and engine immobiliser would appear to be effective!

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

No service yet. Made one call to local dealer to enquire about a part. Not the friendliest, but efficient nonetheless.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

Faultless - should go on for tens of thousands of miles yet.

    Other

Heated seats don't work - suspect relay. Factory six-disc changer faulty - eBay replacement £20. Air con condenser aluminium pipes corroded by road salt - £200 all in at specialist air con dealer to replace and recharge though.
