What does this car say about you?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They have commented on the colour and the jet fighter nose, plus the amount of kit we got for the price.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, we tried loads of other makes, Honda, Land Rover, Kia and others but the Outlander was the best drive which fits a family of four, including 6 foot teenagers. We also looked at the Citroen C crosser and Peugeot 4007 which are the same car but you gte more with the Mitisubishi and it looks better.

What are you likely to buy next?

We keep a car until it is run into the ground so won't be looking for years, but if someone happened to this one we would buy another Outlander.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £24,000

When did you buy the car?

    March 2012

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, thought we would like a red one, they are quite rare, dealer found us one but not in the spec we wanted but got it in for us to look. We liked the colour and put a large deposit on a car unseen, when that car was delivered it was scratched and also had a damaged interior, we rejected it and then the only other car they could find was an 11 11 plate instead of 61 but it only had 750 miles on it.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed an auto with room for 6 foot plus teenager in the back.

    What was the dealer like?

Initially chaotic but a change of staff and it is much better.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Electrically adjustable seats and adjustable steering wheel make it really comfortable. 6 speed automated manual gives seamless gear changes even in sport mode, ride is biased towards the road and in 4 wheel drive can really be hustled along back roads.

    What's it like to park?

Has nice big mirrors, parking sensors and a camera, plus the power steering make it easy to park, that is once you are used to using a camera, but if you don't want to it has good visibility out of the back.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes FNS door seal is not set properly and causes wind noise. The very bottom corners of the upper tailgate have rust under the paint, this might be a widespread problem on Outlanders but both are being fixed without any problems and they are lending us another Outlander. We think the economy meter is 10 to 20% pessimistic.

What's most practical about your car?

It is versatile go almost anywhere, 7 seater (small) or big boot.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

We went for the GX4 for the sound system, navigation, sunroof, we also like the back seats moving and the split tailgate.
