In their own words

This is my second Outlander PHEV, as I loved the first model I had so much. Very easy and relaxing to drive and the GX5hs model comes with auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, auto wipers and electric drivers seat. My journeys are mostly less than 40 miles these days which means that the majority of my journeys are electric. The result is that over one period of three months during the summer I averaged 220 mpg. However, a 3 week driving holiday in Scotland, from the South coast, averaged only 42 mpg, due to the motorway journeys, and lack of charging facilities, which reduced my average consumption since purchasing the car to only 90 mpg. However, long journeys like that confirm the sheer comfort of the front seats, as well as the benefit of adaptive cruise control. Battery capacity varies during the year, from 20 miles in winter to about 27 miles in summer. Carrying capacity as an SUV is excellent, and the flat load floor is very handy. The ability to programme pre-heating or pre-cooling of the car, using the phone app, is perfect in the winter, or our recent hot summers. Performance, for a relatively heavy vehicle, is perfectly adequate, and the instant acceleration of the twin electric motors is impressive. Overall, this is one of the best cars I have ever owned; comfortable, quiet and reliable.
