Car was chipped, but gives out black smoke. We have been told that is normal!

Clutch went after 27,000 miles just outside its 2 year warranty. Cost nearly £600 to replace and manufacturers refused to pay for it. Car not driven hard and was well within the 85% towing rule from caravn club.
