  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

That I don't rely on my car to speak for me. But people probably think it's a bit of a fuddy-duddys car. I don't care!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My auntie likes it(!). One (male) colleague has remarked it's kept well for its age. (The paintwork has stayed bright).

Would you buy this car again and why?

All the time my domestic circs are the same, then yes.

What are you likely to buy next?

If I win the lottery, I would buy a big Volvo. Until then, I will buy second-hand Nissans.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £1,500

When did you buy the car?

    January 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

Fourth car I've brought from the same dealer, all been trade-in's with no warranty; never been stitched up. 65k on the clock.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Needed a car quick. It had been well cared for by one owner from new. Wanted a Japanese 3-door hatch.

    What was the dealer like?

Rewarded my loyalty by sticking a new MOT on it even when it had some to go on old one.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

I'm surprised how fast it is on the motorway, it sits comfortably at 70 (who wants to do more?!). The fuel ecomony is not bad; I average 40mpg (500 miles on 55 litres). It corners well, and my town has lots of hills which it manages if you use the gears properly.

    What's it like to park?

As mentioned, the 3-door model is quite stubby, so finding spaces is ok, but the rear view is poor as the window is qite high.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Absolutely nothing(touch wood!), probably becaused it had been well cared for, for 10 years, by one guy. One REALLY annoying niggle- why doesn't the digital clock glow in the dark? When driving at night, I can't tell the time! Grrr!

What's most practical about your car?

Roomy inside for front seat passengers, fairly short body means it's pretty easy to find parking space.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

As a speccy-four-eyes, I appreciated the in-built glasses holder in the roof near the interior light. (I've yet to find the fabled the 'curry hook' supposedly on these cars!)
