Nissan Primera Saloon 1990-
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Great car for a bargain price.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Never used a main dealer. High steet garages are resonable, although not looking forward to renewing lower front suspension ball joint as you have to replace the whole suspension arm. Also, cat is costly.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Smooth revvy engine, fanatastic road holding, very refined for its age and easy driving due to auto box.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Quick enough, even though an auto.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very well built. Only minor repairs over last 4 years (tyres, exhaust, CV boots, pads) despite 88k miles on the clock. Still sounds smooth and refined.

    Image

    2 out of 5 2.0

Unfortunately low image, but at least it keeps prying eyes away. SE slightly sportier styling and GT looks ok.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Good comfort and nice ride. Well laid out and SE has a good spec. Cruise control and heated front seats (leather) are missed.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Immobilised, but radio is the usual brick type, although it has a code. Boot can be opened from an unlocked lever inside.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

The Nissan garage were reluctant to fix a few minor issues when I bought the car and missed a few items on the major service it had when I got it (eg. fuel filter). Never used them since.

Still beautifully sweet. Never misses a beat.
