• Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

It's as good for females "la di daaing" in the school carpark. as for family orientated "modern men" doing their "family" stuff. Initially, it wasn't my cup of tea at all (prefer the agressive Male BMW look etc) but I have to say I've been converted somewhat to the crossover idea. I now think its an impressive and practical family car - Overall, I think its the best on offer in the crossover market regarding cost, kudos, likeability and practicality. Each time I fill up with fuel, 50 mpg and group 7 insurance says a lot to me. The seven seats say a lot to the kids and the high up driving style says a lot for my wife.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Don't know but I suspect females "get" the idea of the car more than men.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes - a very good family car with a "high up" driving position. Over time, it's abilities grow on you as you discover your need for them!

What are you likely to buy next?

Another "economic to run" flexible Crossover. Having said that, The Nissan Qashqai is the only choice at the moment.

  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Pleasant high up position with car like manners. Light and easy to use controls. 1.5 diesel is suprisingly peppy and absolutely fine for real world driving up to 85 mph (you don't really want to go any faster in a crossover). Generally a quiet enough car with a good ride. Any slight tyre roar at the rear (17 inch alloys?) is eliminated with a boot full of luggage. After a long journey, I still felt quite fresh but driving seat could be more comfortable (like most cars). High up position avoids headlight glare at night and allows a more relaxed driving style on motorways (you can see the oncoming road better). Generally a pleasant non-stressful experience.

    What's it like to park?

Easy enough and great turning circle.
