• Summary

What does this car say about you?

Of many of the 1.6L hot hatch's i think it is a more classy option. Most people will go for the cheaper Saxo, The pug is a little more subtle.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They wonder why i keep driving it when it keeps breaking down.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I sold it recently but if i could of afforded to keep it as a 2nd car i would have. It's a pleasure to drive when on a quite country road & always put a smile on my face. Reliability was a big issue, i would have avoided ever going to a Peugeot garage & should have stuck to a trusted local garage.

What are you likely to buy next?

I have now bought a BMW Z3. A very different car & despite being a more powerful & quicker car i still miss the little Pug on the odd occasion.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Superb fun on the country roads, an absolute joy! The steering is responsive & gives great feel for the road. Performance is good. Car is not ideally suited to motorway driving but still comfortable.

    What's it like to park?

No problems. Electric mirrors help if you really need it.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes i have had many problems with the fuel pump failing, in all 4 replacements. This was made worse by the Peugeot garage doing such a bad job of identifying the issue! Avoiding using cheap fuel has prevented this from repeating.

What's most practical about your car?

Although it has good performance it can also give good fuel economy when driven sensibly if you can resist the temptation.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The half leather trim is a nice touch, it looks smart & is very comfortable.
