Peugeot 2008 review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

I have driven a great variety of cars in my driving lifetime, the Facelift New 2008 GT EAT8 130 has shown me what a nice car this is.To be honest whilst now an antique a Bentley S2 was not a patch on the comfort of the 2008. What does surprise me is how willing the 1,2 pure tech engine is. Much has been written about the EAT 8 gearbox BUT apart from the very occasional jerk its a beauty. yes I have experience of full auto and the DSG plus the awful Honda I shift (manual controlled by electronics).
I have also read the car leans in corners well I have not noticed it. After the Renault Clio which was a limpet I really do not know why leaning is mentioned.
Comfort wise very good. Quiet despite my new super hearing aids and one design that my Wife really likes is the doors going right under the sills, keeping the sills from depositing mud on clothing.
The car is not perfect NOTHING is but even a problem was sorted quickly and without fuss. Not the usual wait for weeks.

How reliable do you find the car?

The infotainment control screen stopped working. On going to the dealer was fixed immediately, a mere 40 min wait

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

I am a Motability customer and not computer savvy except for my Emails so the infotainment side is still a mystery. I should have preferred more manual controls but progress is the order of the day.
I do not find the steering wheel,( which most motor journalists do) a problem.
After a Renauly Clio RS Line Auto where the average fuel consumption was shown it seems ( and possibly my lack of computer savvy is the problem) all I get is a fuel gauge that shows a greater distance to fill up, than when Is started and the fuel consumption each time I stop. Varies from stop start local at around 38 to 47mpg on a run.
