I bought mine for £65 off Ebay and it is the best value motoring I have had.
Costs
Bought a donor car and stripped that for spares, nearly everything is available through your local motor factors so paying extortionate dealer prices is a thing of the past.

On the road

Agile and accurate hatch back with loads of scope for image and performance improvements, most of the bit's of the GTi's will fit.
Performance
For a 1.4 it is amazingly quick, I have kept up with a 1.6 GTi until about 90 mph then it was off. Loads of fun to be had on twisty country lanes!

Cool.... The eighties were a splendid time and this design will never age in my opinion.
