  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Bought new for £11,000 due to Peugeot model change in 2000, i.e. larger wheels, rear headrests etc.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

To date no spend on parts etc as three year guarantee. This car likes a drop of that unleaded when you play tunes with the great engine.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Feels lumpy at slow speeds, suspension a bit harsh, but certainly handles well, always feels balanced.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Brilliant for the price, certainly makes me smile, loves country roads, slighly noisy at speed on motorways. Turn up th CD and enjoy the permanent grin.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Mechanically no faults. Bodywork rear seat rattle and front passenger seat now faulty for thirrd time, dealer needs to get his finger out.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Looks nice in metallic red, the GTi badge helps.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

I like driving position, but then only 5' 8". Pedals are strangely positioned and can occasionally lead to you accelerating when you should be braking...rather worrying if traffic busy.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

No body has tried to steal it yet.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Repeatedly taking vehicle back for seat problems. Next time it will be "get me the manager".
