Other Peugeot 206 (1998 - 2009) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

That i have a outdoor lifestyle but dont have kids. That i am selective and wouldnt have a bog standard model. Quiksilver estate is all colour coded and big wheels.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

That it is smart. Girlfriend had 03 golf TDI (my previous car!). She says the cars ride is firm and engine noisy.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, but would want same spec with 1.4 hdi. 2.0hdi seems heavy on fuel. Dont but one of the awful gold colours!

What are you likely to buy next?

Quite fancy a Mini Cooper, but no space for bikes...

  • Buying experience

    4 out of 5 4.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,100

When did you buy the car?

    February 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

The car was immaculate and the young lad I bought from had kept it well serviced. He dropped it by £200.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I needed a small estate, wanted flat load bay and needed improved economy on my 306 xsi

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Not the quickest off mark, it can feel heavy, but when moving the torque is impressive. Motorway speed is good and pulls well. Like all peugeots, a hoot round bends, especially with the wide rubber on it.

    What's it like to park?

The useful opening tailgate is tinted really dark. It means things in boot are hidden, but... rear visibility on darker days or evenings is poor. Use door mirrors for all reversing.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing in 6 months. Very reliable. It has a knocking noise when I turn engine out. Garage said its just a design flaw! Only manage 41.5mpg over 6 months. Pug garage said have to live with that economy!

What's most practical about your car?

The boot. I find it brilliant. Flat load bay, nooks and crannies, tie-down points all useful for single guy with bikes! The opening glass on tailgate is great too.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The quiksilver interior gets lots of comments. The seats are comfy but sporty. But overall has to be the boot.
