1450 for a car with 37.7k on the clock, fsh, ok its white, but apart from that its a damn good buy.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

DOH! nothing really expensive, though at 8 years old you do expect one or two problems. Servicing is every 9k but pretty cheap, and parts are available quite cheap also (full set of discs/pads all round for just over 110 quid!!)

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not a bad drive, comfortable, the seats are a little softer than my previous mondeo though, and not quite as sporty as i think they should be but good all round car, took ford long enough to knock it off its top spot for being the best in its class!

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Not quite the quickest car around, probably wasn't too bad in its day, still keeps up with 2ltr mondeos quite easily, good mid range grunt from the 2ltr 8v engine.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Wear and tear parts in 10k driving, heater matix went (70 quid for part, labour was a touch more but BIG job), coolant sensor went (12 quid but a pain) intermittant fault with the speedo, fixed at the same time as heater matrix.

Old mans car..... well from the inside its still a 306, and this is my 3rd one (2 GTi-6's before this one)

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Has pretty much everything i need, good seats though slighly soft, electric everything (f/r ew, elec s/r, heated elec wingmirrors etc), huge boot so good for what i use her for.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comes with an alarm and keypad immobiliser, still quite good today, classed as cat 2, includes deadlocks though these wont keep out a determined thief.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Only used the Peugeot dealer once, though courtious, they stopped at the first possible fault, cost me 2 hours labour and they didnt fix the fault, took it to my usual garage, 30 mins and fault diagnosed (subaru garage) you tell me...…

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Its had a headgasket job at sometime but its low mileage and still feels very new, no probems here.

    Other

Heater matrix, radiators can go after 6-8 years, I'd bank on replacing sometime between these intervals.
