Peugeot 405 Estate 1988
  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Bargain Basement price, but executive level of comfort/room.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Running costs are lowest I've ever had - It just does the job.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Massive understeer, followed by VERY violent oversteer - watch it in the wet!

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

For a Diesel it is superb - pulls like a train. Tow a caravan? - no problem!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

I've had no problems, apart from a dodgy starter moter. Methinks I am not alone here!

    Image

    1 out of 5 1.0

It's a 405 Estate! - it has no image (but - you should never judge a book by its cover......)

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Two armchairs in the front - a Penthouse Suite in the back. Beats the 5 Series Beamer I had previously hands down!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

It's a 405 Diesel Estate!! You could leave it with all the doors open and the Tealeafs kindly shut them for you and move on to the shiny thing parked next door.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

Only use Peugeot for Spares, but always found them very helpful.
