In their own words

I bought my Peugeot Partner with only a thousand or so miles on the clock at 6 months old in 2006. I have driven it for 14 years and there are now 150k miles on the clock. In all that time it has been a trusty workhorse, carrying kids, camping kit, bales of straw, logs, big bits of furniture...you name it! The boot is very big even with the back seats up and huge with them down, and being basically rectangular inside you can fit most things in. The tailgate rear door makes a good shelter for the rain when you are changing muddy boots or drinking a cup of tea after a walk. The sliding rear doors have been brilliant for hoisting kids in and out and the many pockets and compartments inside have been useful at storing family junk. It is now 2020 and it is time to sell my trusty old friend for parts as the steering rack has seized up causing a dangerous pull when you are driving and the part is no longer available. This is so sad! In 14 years I have had absolutely no engine trouble. The clutch, though quite heavy now, has never failed and I have had no issues at all with anything else. This diesel engine just goes and goes! It has never broken down. Totally reliable. And the fuel efficiency, though never great, has remained exactly the same these past 10 years at 38-40mpg. I have, though, in 14 years replaced the back axle twice, the front steering rack, and all four side door handles which broke off to great comic effect! My mechanic, who has been trying to write this car off for years, tells me the sills are finally looking like they wouldn't pass next year's MOT. This was a brilliant choice of car. Not sexy, but hugely reliable, very comfy and with great visibility. I will miss driving my old Peugeot Partner.
