Relatively cheap car to buy with excellent safety and comfort features.

Relatively cheap to run and excellent MPG figures for 1.2 litre engine.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Fun to drive and nice smooth gear shift action. However, cluch is a bit stiff and the accelerator is a little over-sensitive, and will lead to jerky stop-starts on roads if a little heavy footed.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Zippy performance and excellent BHP (75) for its class. Engine drives and feels much faster then equivalent Peugot 206 and latest Vauxhall Corsa.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

So far no major problems after 4 weeks. There is however, squeaky clutch pedal and dash board trim creaks that need to be rectified at local dealer.

Average to good. A bit frumpy. Be nice to have the engine in a 206 body!

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Fairly good for the class and price. Seats feel a bit hard and look cheap compared to Peugot 206. Dash board looks pretty low rent too!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Excellent. Also have Renault's own Thatcham 1 approved alarm fitted.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Sales people seem to be less interested in you as a customer once you hand over your cheque. May go to another dealership for servicing of vehicle in the future.
