Renault Megane Cabriolet 1997-
  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Decent equipment level on this top of the range model, very stingy on lower spec ones.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Just fuel so far, which at around 35mpg isn't bad at all.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Perfect on smooth roads, but how many of those do we have in this country. Steering could do with a bit more feedback

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good off the mark and has good pick up over 3500rpm. 9 seconds to 62 (Manufacturers figures)

  • Living with it

    No problems

It's a nice car. You look at one with the roof down and think considerably more of the occupants than you do of a 3 series BMW doing the same

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Full leather sports seats hold driver & passenger, rear seat passengers had better be small if driver is over 6ft

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Cat1 alarm & immobiliser although at the end of the day a sharp knife will get you inside!

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

    Renault are very expensive
