Value
Nearly every feature you've ever heard of standard. Dreadful residuals due to reliability issue. However, it's very safe. How much do you value your life?
Costs
Cheap servicing but poor residuals. 205/55 Michelins replaced at 40k. 45mpg over 55k means 25p/mile overall. Not bad if bought on with discount.

On the road
Driving
Lifeless steering but excellent reps car as quick and safe. Cruise control easy but get a camera detector. It's deceptively quick. Better in wet on Goodyear F1s.
Performance
Great diesel. Powerful overtaking. Quicker than Mini Cooper across country and you wont feel battered at the end.

Living with it
Reliability
Okay at 55k. Injector/ timing problem at 49k and dodgy key when new. Floor lockers all leak. Lots of electronics to go wrong but you could have a Golf with no gadgets and more breakdowns.

Smart and well designed. £35k Mercs lack same features of Megane. Poor residuals.
Comfort
Full leather a bargain. Dash plasticky but ergonomics excellent. Stereo controls brilliant. Cruise should be the same. Plenty of storage.

5 star. No locks to slide hammer. Thatcham alarm and deadlocks standard means it'll always be there.

Rugby excellent but have heard of poor dealers.
