Other Renault Megane (2002 - 2006) models:

  • Summary

    2 out of 5 2.0

What does this car say about you?

That I was an idiot to buy another Renault

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

People think it looks great, my friends know how bad it can be.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Never again. Window electric faults seem the norm. You can feel the frame under the rear seats. Replacing bulbs is a nightmare. If you have a dog in the car then you have to press the start button five times to switch of the motion sensors for the alarm. Not the best on fuel efficiency. Not well suited to rural life.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Skoda Octavia Estate

    April 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

It was a good price for the mileage and year.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Newer and better condition than the car I should have bought when I went to the show room.

    What was the dealer like?

Typical dealer... very friendly and exaggerated everything about the car.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very smooth drive. Great acceleration and braking with controlled handling. Rattling dash and sunroof is a bit distracting.

    What's it like to park?

Simple to park with a good view from the mirrors.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Oh yes. Electric window on drivers side stopped half way. Took the door apart and got it working but it stopped working a week later, then the rear window stopped working. Water gets into the drivers footwell. Central locking can go a bit bonkers sometimes by locking and unlocking in fits when I'm next to it. Proximity sensor for keycard doesn't work on passenger door.

What's most practical about your car?

Great size and comfortable to drive

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Keycard technology is brilliant when it works. With the key in your pocket you can unlock, drive and relock the car.
