In their own words

Quiet on rough roads, which is why I bought it - comparable with a BMW 3 series.
Comfortable - entirely fine for long journeys.
Amazing capacity. With rear seats down and front passenger reclined back I can fit a 2.4m triple ladder or 3m long lengths of 110 mm pipe. I like the levers to drop the rear seats: it's so easy to put a bike in the back without needing to take a wheel off.
Very economical - will do over 60 (proper measured mpg) on a long run.
Having had it for 5 years, I'm still entirely happy. Chain driven engine so no cam belt to change. I'm going to see if it will take me to 150,000 miles - and then might try for 200k.
I loved my old 05 Passat and never fell in love with this at first. But now I like it an enormous amount.

How reliable do you find the car?

Tie rod ends replaced under warranty at 40,000 miles. Leaking air con joints also replaced under warranty. I'm glad I had the 5 year warranty but otherwise nothing other than normal wear & tear - and I've done 95,000 miles in it myself.
