Rover 200 Cabriolet 1992-
  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Much more for your money than an Escort cabriolet and most have been better looked after than the Golf cabrio.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Petrol consumption is OK but no better than that. Other costs are good.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Handles / corners well. Driving position comfortable although there are dreadful blackspots when looking in the mirror.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent for 1.6 litre. But why did Rover never put a more powerful 2.0 litre in it ? Doh!

  • Living with it

    Very good.

    Image

    2 out of 5 2.0

    Now dated.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Very good in front and reasonable in the back.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

    Hey it's a cabrio......security ? what's that ?

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Don't waste time with Rover. This car is easy to work on, any garage can do it.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

The 1.6 litre engine is very lively. Could do with a 2.0 litre to make it fast..

    Other

Boot lock / apparatus is not very good, but easily fixed with superglue and a wee bit of rubber.
