What does this car say about you?

I'm afraid it still has the "pipe and slippers" image. But my friends really like it, they say "it looks like I have achieved something" and that "i am going places" It actually has a really nice upperclass luxury feel to it. The ones that took the mick out of me for buying a Rover soon shut up when I took them out in it.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it, they like the luxury feel it has to it and the upper class look to it. My neighbours keep telling me not to polish so much as I will rub the paint off.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, I would. Ideally I would never get rid of it. Its been really reliable, and is so comfy. Its economical on fuel and really quiet and refinedd inside.

What are you likely to buy next?

I have just bought the sportier MG ZR, after that I would like a 2.5 V6 Rover 75 or a CDTI MG ZT.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £1,200

When did you buy the car?

    September 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

In comparrison to what else was on the market at the time I got a good deal. Car was superior in history, condition, milage, paperwork and kit.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Always liked these cars, was cheap on insurance, had a good size engine, nice interior, practical and safe, had lots of space inside, VERY cheap to run. Did I mention that I love these cars?

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly and helpfull, let me test drive it on my own. I picked up a few faults with it that we agreed would be put right before the car was dispatched to me. When I had a fault with the car several weeks after puchasing the car the dealer was quick to say sorry and rectified it the next day at his expense.

    What's it like to drive?

Really peppy little engine, you have to rev hard to get good perfomance out of it, but when the K-series gets past 4000RPM it really comes to life. Makes a great noise and handles really well, sticks like dirt to a shovel. It does have a tendancie to roll through the bends though when you chuck it throug them so you have to have your wits about you so you dont slide out of your seat. If you looking for a fun drive then the MG ZR with its bucket seats and sports susspension is probably the one to go for. If however you like the odd blast down a country B road but like to have quiet comfortbale surroundings on a day to day basis then the 25 is the car for you.

    What's it like to park?

EASY PEASY!!! The rear parking aid helps a lot, has good all round visability and a tight turning circle.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Only the headgasket, which unfortunatly theses engines are prone to. However it would not have gone if the garage that serviced it filled it up with coolant properly. Was replaced for £250 with the uprated MLS gasket from landrover by an ex MG-Rover mechanic.

What's most practical about your car?

Its really comfy on long drives, has a good size boot and lots of space inside. I am yet to find a load that the car can not swallow.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Nothing fancie but the rear parking aid is helpfull for nipping into those tight spaces in towns and cities. Front fog lights are really good when visibility is reduced. I also like the fact it has an alloy spare wheel and the tailored Rover floor mats.
