    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Good value for money. Not much kit, but dirt cheap.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

    Fuel, tax, and insurance *shrug*

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very tight handling and an involving drive - lots of fun on twisty bits.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

1.6 is a good warm hatch - good in the traffic-light Grand Prix and has some nice mid-range overtaking torque too.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

No problems, except from previous owner abuse.

In the right colour with alloys they look nice, especially the coupe-ish 3 door, but still some people attach a stigma to owning a Rover...

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Ok. Seats hold you quite well and the front's okay, but the back is tight and I end up with lower back pain after long journies.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    3 out of 5 3.0

Mine is still here, but I wouldn't trust the alarm...

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Quicks of Leamington provided an appalling service - rude, inefficient, incompetent, and on occasion downright liars. Find yourself a decent dealer, though, and you'll be okay.

  • Problems and Ownership
