Build quality was good but the gadgets were sadly lacking.

    Costs

    1 out of 5 1.0

Horribly expensive service costs, I never seemed to go through a service without needing something extra done to the car. In one case, I had to pay over £1000 for an ABS controller! My cheapest ever 12000 service was around £260.

    Driving

Excellent on country roads, quiet on the motorway. Shocked a few friends with how fast it could accelerate and how well it cornered.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent. Averaged 45mpg driving 32 miles to work (motorway and back roads).

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

This car never failed to start or get me to my destination. Even when the Engine Management System failed, it still completed the journey.

Grandad on tranquilisers, but I didn't care - it handled well and got my family from Moray to Wiltshire on a regular basis.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good, though I did sometimes feel I was scrunched into the corner of the seat.
