  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Poor depreciation when trading it in.

    Costs

    2 out of 5 2.0

Thirsty - but I drive it hard, so understandable.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Poor road noise. Brakes not the sharpest ever used. Cornering not precise, but OK for four-door family car I suppose.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Goes like stink - will blow most off the road.

  • Living with it

Rover - nuff said. Personally, I know how quick it is and others do once you pull away from them - who cares about the Rover badge!

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Driving position good if you lower the seat right down. Road noise could be quieter, but at least the steering gives good feedback.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

    No problems.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

No real problems. Servicing OK, however warranty company would not pay for head gasket work as this is apparently "a manufacturer fault with the Rover built engine".

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Head gasket. Sump leak. Coolant leak. Burns most of the oil by the 6,000-mile service.

    Other

White smokey exhaust on cold start. Preferred my old MR2 for fun driving.

    Ownership

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    No

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?

    No
