  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very cheap to buy and a lot of motor for the money.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Heavy on petrol on short trips, dealer parts expensive and not always the best quality.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Great long distance fast car, improved greatly by fitting of uprated and lowered suspension springs.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

This is a very fast family saloon, will outrun all but the fastest hot hatches much to their dismay, after all it's a Rover!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Owned the car for a year now only been let down once, the ignition coil packed in.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

620 generally perceived as an old man's car, the turbo model lays this myth to rest.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comfortable for both short and long journeys, road noise can be a bit intrusive, dependant on choice of tyres. Front headroom can be restrictive for the six footers and over.

  • Security and Service

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Local dealer is dreadful, mention 620 turbo and they assume diesel. Parts are expensive and the local dealer has the knack of ordering the wrong parts, no stock held so I always have a 2-3 day wait.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Oil leaks due to botched dealer servicing, easily sorted now completely dry.
